What happened in Honilands during half term?

As soon as the KS2 children entered school on Tuesday they noticed that we had a new carpet in the front entrance. We are encouraging the children to wipe their feet when they enter the building.

The Nursery and Reception children have also got lovely new carpets in their classes. 2A’s room is now finished. There is a new carpet to the rear of the building.

We have new curtains in both halls, chosen by the School Council.

The upstairs KS2 toilets are nearly finished (colours chosen by the School Council).

Work has started on the downstairs ladies toilets and new windows have been installed in the downstairs KS2 toilets.

Healthy Eating Demonstration

On Thursday and Friday all classes will have the opportunity to try different foods in the hall. A chef will be coming in to talk about healthy food and Julia Dowsett who came into school earlier this term, will be there.

Please ask your children what they learnt and maybe you could try these foods at home.

News from the School Council

We have chosen a new school logo. Last term we asked all the children for their ideas and we have decided to replace Peace Partnership and Respect with:

“We Are One”

& World Book Day – 6 March &

This week we will be celebrating with a number of activities.  Reception and Nursery children can dress up as their favourite book or fairytale characters.  KS and KS2 will join together to take part in story time activities.  On Thursday and Friday after school in the upper hall there will be a book sale and as usual every child will have a book voucher worth £1.  Also look out for the homework competitions based on favourite book characters.
