The School Grounds

Another picture of our conservation area.

We have two bog gardens and in the Spring there are lots of frogs and newts.

Enfield in Bloom came to see the area in July 2005 and we were very excited about our conservation area with its wild flowers.  They said it was one of the best conservation areas they had seen in Enfield.

We are very lucky to have such large and beautiful grounds.  Classes regularly visit the conservatiion area to study mini beast habitats.

We also have over 500 trees which take alot of looking after.

Future Developments of the Conservation Area

This will include refurbishment of the pond to encourage wildlife.  This will mean that the children  will have an enhanced outdoor learning environment - look out for pictures in the Spring Term 2008.

Other ideas will include creating a woodland walk, planting bulbs and revitalising our vegetable plot - pictures to follow.

Other Information About our School

Mrs Crouch has been working with the School Council to find out about what improvements the children of Honilands wouly really like made to our school.

Early in the Summer Term we will be having some really exciting improvements made to our playgrounds.

So far, we have taken delivery of some new picnic benches for Key Stage 2 and in Key Stage 1 we will be having special picnic benches with table top games like Snakes and Ladders, draughts and a car raceway.

In the next few weeks we are expecting delivery of some shade sails for both playgrounds.

Money raised from our Easter Egg raffle has been used to buy a new fish tank for the main corridor.  Mrs Crouch has set up the tank and it looks brilliant!  We are waiting for the chemicals in the tank to settle and then we will be off to buy some fish - very exciting!

Check out this area to see what else we have planned for later in the term.
