Music

At Honilands Music is an important part of the curriculum.  Peripatetic teachers come to the school every week to give lessons.  Currently we have violin and brass lessons.

The Endangered Species Programme started last year.  Youth music identified that there are several instruments that are in danger of becoming extinct because not very many people play them.  These instruments include; Tuba, Baritone, Trombone, French Horn, Bassoon, Oboe and Double Bass.  This is supported by Youth Music, a national organisation that devolves lottery funding to music organisations and Enfield Arts Support Service (EASS).

Last year in partnership with Eastfield School, Honilands students gave a world premiere of Bongo, Bongo by Dennis Rollins, the trombonist with the Jules Holland Band.  This took place at the Capel Manor Festival Concert.

Music Worldwide

We are visiting world music practitioners, who come into the school to give performances and workshops in various aspects of world music.

Enfield Sings

Honilands in partnership with twenty other primary schools throughout Enfield, participates in the Enfield Sings choir with performances in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall.
