School Governors

The Governing Body is made up of the following:
LEA Representatives
Community Representatives
Parent Representatives
Staff Representatives
Teacher Representatives

The role of a governor is an important one. In consultation with the Headteacher, the Governing Body decide how the school is to be run. They have legal duties and responsibilities to ensure that the school is run efficiently and managed effectively to meet targets and guarantee the raising of achievement.

Sub-committees for various important areas such as Curriculum, Finance, Premises, and Staffing meet every term and report back to the main Governing Body.

We also have various strategy groups in place, where governors can bring their own areas of expertise to the table. For example the ICT strategy group meet every term to discuss ways of improving and resourcing this important area of the curriculum. Their knowledge and experience is welcomed and their advice is carefully considered.

An annual report, giving details about the work of the Governing Body has undertaken in the previous year, is given to every parent in the Autumn term. A meeting is then held later in the term when parents and carers are given the chance to discuss this report with the Governing Body.

If you would like to know more about how the school is managed and are interested in becoming a Parent Governor please contact the Headteacher for more information.
