YEAR 3 HISTORY AND GEOGRAPHY

Year 3 have been studying the lives of the Celts as part of their History topic.

Each child produced an information booklet about the Celts.  Here is what Prisca wrote about the topic:

What they wore:

They wore jewellery called torque and bright dresses made out of either wool or leather.  Some men wore clothes like trousers and tunics and some of them even grew moustaches.  The ladies wore their hair in plaits and had pins to hold it up.

What they ate:

They hunted for food like deer  meat, and they used fire to cook.  Some hunters looked for food and some people stole food from other people.

What jobs they did:

The Celts jobs were to hunt for food because some people couldn't go and hunt for their own food.  Other people cut corn for the farmers and some people became warriors.

Where they lived:

The Celts lived in houses called huts.  They were made of sticks and pieces of animal skin.  They coverd the outside of their huts with wood and hay.  They then had to cut a rectagle to go inside.
